So, when was the last time you saw a football game with back to back kickoff returns for touchdowns, to start the second half of a bowl game? We just did in Fort Worth in the 40-degree Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl.

The PingWi-Fi team is scattered around the sidelines and the pressbox … tweeting … sampling the Wi-Fi … typically standing close to the hotdogs … with great views. Note to self (and readers) … be careful on sidelines. I was hit when a Houston player throuigh the kicking tee back to the

sidelines. As cold as it is here … prolly pretty close to the feeling of a frozen hockey puck. I ain’t gonna lie. I also just about busted my arse in front of the 41,414 record crowd, when I slipped on one of the cold, wet drains on the sideline of the field. Way to go grace!

Great game! … Houston scored another touchdown just a few minutes later, on the very next possession of the second half. So, as I write this, the score is 31-20.

Now … here are two halftime highlights: First I met Sgt. Dana Bowman, the amputee who was supposed to skydive into the stadium today. We snapped a photo out in the parking lot by his monster truck. His jump was thwarted by the overcast, foggy weather, although they circled Fort Worth … ready to go.

Second — there was another Mike Leach-related incident. I often joke that “I am a product of the Mike Leach system” both to pooh pooh that cliché thought and also to proudly state that I went to Texas Tech. BUT … I saw the guy who was THE original, falsely labeled “product of the Mike Leach System.”

As I boarded the elevator for the pressbox, three Houston assistant coaches hopped on. One was Houston Cougar QB Coach Kliff Kingsbury! (rhymes with “we’re not worthy”). Now that is some walking Texas Tech history … one of the first of Mike Leach’s stars to lead the nation in passing. He also was a serious contender for The Heisman and even caught the attention of Britney Spears on the tour bus in Lubbock as Red Raider lore goes … back in the day.

Heck yes I asked Coach Kingsbury for a comment on the Texas Tech fiasco, which ended in the firing of Mike Leach. Well … of course KK & Co. were busy trying to orchestrate a comeback against Air Force … He was upset about the firing, but couldn’t take time to go on camera … Maybe later!

This just in … Air Force drove down, stalled, and hit a field goal … The score … 34-20, Air Force leading with 7:20 left in the 3rd Quarter, (In the event you are not following our live game tweets from the pressbox — @pingwifi on Twitter).

Final score: 47-20, Air Force, in a game with a record 47 points by Air Force, and the dubious distinction of six interceptions of Quarterback Case Keenum of Houston.

Know what I sayin?
